How to Reduce Lag in a Forge Modded Server

Here’s how you can potentially reduce lag on your Forge Modded Minecraft server.

Here’s how you can potentially reduce lag on your Forge Modded Minecraft server.

Anti-Lag Mods

There are several mods that can help reduce lag on your Forge Minecraft server:

  1. Lithium for Forge

  2. AI Improvements

  3. RandomPatches for Forge

Make sure to choose the correct Forge version for each mod. You can find this under Version Changer.

Pre-Generate Chunks

Generating new chunks often causes severe lag. Pre-generating chunks can prevent this from happening. While it can take some time initially, it’s worth it in the long run!

We recommend this mod for pre-generating chunks: Chunk-Pregenerator. Again, make sure to select the correct version.

After installing the mod, you can use this in-game command: /pregen gen startradius square ~ ~ 3000.

This will generate 3,000 chunks around the player. It may take a while!

If you don’t have permissions, you can resolve it by using the command: /op [playername] (replace playername with your username).

Upgrade to a Premium Server Package

Upgrading from a Standard Server Package to a Premium Server Package can also help. See: https://etheron.eu/game/minecraft-hosting
