Creating a New Reseller Customer in DirectAdmin
Explains how to create a new hosting account for a customer as a reseller in DirectAdmin.
As a reseller, you create a separate hosting account for each customer within your DirectAdmin environment. In this article, we explain how this works.
Note: First create a suitable package before adding a customer, so the correct limits (disk space, bandwidth, CloudLinux settings) are set correctly right away. See our article How Do CloudLinux Limits Work for Reseller Hosting? if you haven't set up packages yet.
Creating a customer
- Log in to your reseller account via
yourreseller.com:2222. - Go to Reseller Level.
- Click Account Manager and choose Create Account.
- Fill in the customer's details: username, domain name, email address, and password.
- Choose the package that fits this customer under Package.
- Check that Secure SSL is checked, so Let's Encrypt is automatically available.
- Click Create.
After creating
- The customer automatically receives (if configured) an email with their login details.
- Point the customer to changing nameservers, if the domain isn't with us yet. See our article How Do I Change My Domain's Nameservers?.
Troubleshooting
- Creating an account fails: check whether you as a reseller still have enough space/accounts left within your own package.
- Customer can't log in: check whether the password was passed on correctly, and send a new password via Account Manager if needed.
